Chiang Mai FC!!!!

We finally made it to a Chiang Mai FC (Football Club - ie. Soccer) game! We've been wanting to go for months. It might not be the most elite football club in the world and the Chiang Mai team isn't even in the highest tier but it sure was fun! There were way more people there than I ever thought would be, and it is the craziest I've seen Thai people act since Songkhran. Of course, this is still incredibly calm compared to, lets say and American Football game. We'll definitely be back!

We "splurged" and got the most expensive seats. It was $3 per person and the kids were free!

We were the blue team. Orin said he was going for the red team because 1) his favorite color is red, and 2) because they were from Bangkok and he said Bangkok is his favorite city.

The score was 0-0 until almost the end of the game when Chiang Mai scored! The crowd went wild and it was a bit too loud for Orin.

Sora seemed pretty confused by the whole thing and basically sat there looking unsure the entire time. This is what she does whenever things get loud. She sees other people covering their ears so she does the same...only she doesn't quite get her ears and instead covers her cheeks. :)

Someone sent up a lantern when it was all over and we had won!

The mascot was pretty hilarious. Here he is taking a break...about 15 minutes into the game. We think he was sneaking a beer. About 20 minutes later he finally gets back into character. It was interesting to watch him throughout the game - definitely the most subdued mascot we'd ever seen!
