Last week was RBC's Mission's Conference. In our short careers as missionaries we've participated in two conferences. They been crazy, stressful, whirlwinds - but more importantly they've been uplifting (both emotionally and spiritually) and we've enjoyed sharing the vision of our ministry as well as learning from the "seasoned" missionaries. We've said it so many times but we are in awe of how God placed us at RBC during this time in our lives. We couldn't be at a more mission's-minded church. RBC gives over 50% of it's budget to support about 250 missionaries! It's so neat how God used RBC to lead us to the decision to become missionaries but also to support us as we begin on the journey. We started off the week speaking at Awana. We knew that we'd be speaking to the younger kids and then the older. So I'm thinking of my Awana days and just picturing about 20 kids. RBC is a huge church but we often forget that because it is split into 3 services. So we show up to speak and are told it's about 40 kids and 50 older. We did the same thing when we spoke to the Junior High. In my head I have things planned out to talk to about 15 kids and we show up to about 50. You'd think we'd learn by now. :-) Over the week we had plenty of chances to speak about our ministry. We pray that we made some good connections for future possible prayer or even financial supporters. At 60% we still have a log way to go - but we are certain that God will get us there!
