Busy, Busy, Busy

I can't believe how long it's been since I've blogged! Things have just been so busy. There is a lot to blog about but no time to do it.
We finally got our stuff moved back downstairs. It's amazing how quickly we got it all up when the flood was imminent and we had lots of help. But moving stuff down we did mostly on our own over a period of two weeks. The last thing to bring down was our fridge, which we needed help with. The main thing I learned during the three weeks of my fridge being upstairs was that there is definitely a reason your refrigerator is on the same floor as your kitchen. Think of how many times you gets something out/put something away into the fridge while you are cooking dinner. Trust me, it's a lot. By the end it was beyond frustrating when I got stuff from upstairs and then realized I forgot something. We did use the opportunity to rearrange some furniture which was nice, and our downstairs is really clean too!
Last week I spent 4 days in Malaysia! I am so lucky to have a husband who is willing to be "mommy" for a bit so I can work. But let me tell you, planning to be gone for 4 days took almost as much planning as my wedding. Trying to keep everyone's schedules straight, figuring out who is going to take care of Sora while Damien is at work, making a schedule for Damien to follow, etc... I've been wanting to start being more involved in SIL, and have been praying for what is the best thing to do. Before having kids the job I had for years involved training software. And a huge need in our organization is for training. So I'm going to start doing what I can, when I can, to do training. Most training nationals. It seems like there aren't many people in SIL who can, or want to do it, so I think it's a perfect fit for me. The workshop was amazing, with over 80 Malaysians there who want to learn how to use FieldWorks to be able to create a dictionary in their own language. I learned a lot about the software that was being taught, but since I have used it before I was able to answer lots of questions that people had. I'll do a separate post with pictures and more details so I don't forget.
Now my parents are visiting! The day after I got back from Malaysia, we flew down to Bangkok to meet my parents! They were flying in to visit so we decided to spend a few days in Bangkok before coming back to Chiang Mai. We were supposed to take the train back but because of all of the flooding the trains were cancelled (and have been for the past month!) so we ended up having to fly. With so many people trying to leave the city because of all of the flooding we had to stay an extra night since there were no flights. We've done a lot with my parents so hopefully I'll have time to put up a bunch of posts soon!
