Ugh

Well, Micaiah's first birthday didn't turn out exactly as planned - not that anything big was planned. Last night around 10 I started feeling sick. It came out of nowhere - fever, aching, sore throat. To make things even worse I took some medicine around midnight, not realizing that it had caffeine - so I got about 2 hours of sleep total. By the morning I was worse. Luckily I have a wonderful husband who stayed home from work to take care of the kids. He even took me to the Doctor because I was worried to drive the way I felt. Thankfully, I have strep throat. I say "thankfully" because I can take antibiotics whereas if it was the flu I'd just have to sit and wait. After the appointment Damien dropped me off at home and took the kids to lunch at Chick-fil-A. After lunch Micaiah went down for a nap and Damien took Orin to the library which was one of my plans for the day. Damien was great and tried to keep the kids quiet as much as possible so I could nap - and that's not easy since our bed is in the living room. Our one plan for Micaiah's birthday was to bake cupcakes and sing happy birthday at Bible Study tonight. That is on hold until next Wednesday. It's a little sad that his first birthday ended up this way but the good thing is that he won't remember it! Another good thing is that I'm probably more likely to remember it - thinking back I don't remember what the day was like on Orin's actually birthday.
