Moving Forward

Due to another church joining our partnership team as well as a very generous individual, we're at 90% of our needed support! We can't even believe it. God is good!
I can't believe how busy we've been. I guess you can tell by the fact I haven't posted in a week. We have so much to do over the next few weeks, I don't even know where to start. I know we'll never have the time to see the people we would like to which is sad. It looks like I'll be driving down to New Orleans on April 1 or 2. My mom is going to fly up and drive down with me. The more I thought about it I realized how difficult it would be to do by myself. I was thinking about the fact that any time I would need to stop to use the bathroom or get a snack I would have to bring both kids in with me. And who would change the DVD in the portable DVD player we got for the kids for long car trips? :-) I'm leaving before Damien because he wants to have a week or two at work where he can just work 24/7 and finish things up. If he's going to be at work, I might as well be on my way to New Orleans. :-)
Speaking of Damien at work, he finally told his team and managers at work that he will be quitting. He's been dreading that day for a long time. He has had such high visibility as well as gotten some pretty big awards over the past year - he was worried there would be a pretty negative reaction. A lot of prayer went into how to give the news. When he told them, one of the guys on his team actually "flew" back in his chair in surprise. But the reaction as a whole was better than he expected. Plus, it has given him a great opportunity to share about our mission agency as well his heart for what we'll be doing. Surprisingly, most people's only idea of "missionary" was Mormons - and a negative one at that. We're excited because quite a few people want to be added to our newsletter mailing list. People are, of course, trying to convince him to stay - but once they start they realize that they can't offer him money, power, better hours, etc... He thinks people are pretty intrigued by the whole thing.
I'm starting to get sad about leaving (I'll write more about that later) so I'm just trying to focus on all of the positive and exciting things! All of our lives are about to change pretty drastically - but I can't wait. Well, off to Conversations practice. I'm meeting Damien at Chick-Fil-A to exchange the kids. They will eat dinner and play and have tons of fun together. It feels like Conversations rehearsals have been taking a lot more of my time than last year, but I think it's just that I'm so overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done that I feel like all my spare time is taken. But that's okay, I'm really enjoying it again and I'm so happy to be a part of this ministry one last time.
