A Fun Day

>> Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Ahhh! I'm so behind on posts. I haven't even written about our time in New Orleans. I've been so busy organizing stuff around here and I'm just too exhausted by the evening to edit pictures or type anything. I also feel like I've been neglecting the kids some. Even on a normal day when we're not trying to prepare to move to another country I don't have much extra time in my day if I'm giving the kids the time I think I should. So with all of this extra stuff going on I feel like they need some extra attention. Today I needed to run some errands about 30 minutes away. Usually I'd try to do it on a day they were in school (which is only 1 day a week) I decided to go today so we could have some fun too. We stopped by the mall and I let the kids play in the play area for about 45 minutes. And, for me, that's HUGE. I hate those things. It makes me nervous just thinking about them running around in the pile of bacteria. After they ran around for a while we went to the food court and got Chick-Fil-A for lunch. We left the mall and got home around 12:30 and went straight to the pool. We swam until about 2pm and then then came home for a nap. I would definitely say that Orin is officially swimming. He can tread water for about 20 seconds and swim almost from one side of the pool to the other. My house is a disaster. I brought home out all of our boxes from storage yesterday and they are spread out everywhere! It's really not that many but in 850 sq ft, anything makes it look cluttered. But I resisted the urge to organize today and I'm so glad I did.

Sora was truly in heaven. This girl loves to climb! She is fearless. Here she is trying to walk down a hill that is almost at a 90 degree angle!

Finally I got her to at least try going down seated.

Orin was in time-out for a few minutes for being too rough with Sora. I couldn't help laughing at the face he was making. Does he look repentant to you?

Sora is randomly interested in kids. I'm not sure what makes one kid interesting to her, and another one not, but she was in awe of these boys. She just walked right up to them and just stared for about 2 minutes. It was funny. Especially since they didn't notice her. Of course, if they had tried to talk to her she would have bolted in the opposite direction.

All three trying to play on the slide.

Orin was so proud of himself for balancing on this thing. He wanted me to take a picture.

"Look mom, one foot!"

Micaiah didn't want to be left out and wanted his own picture. :-)

Orin and Micaiah spent a long time playing hide-and-seek. I love when they love playing together.

So cute, I'm totally with you on those mall things, but some times you gotta just suck it up and bring the hand sanitizer. Can't wait for you guys to come up hear before Thailand.

lol, I am ALL ABOUT THE MALL THINGS and then Chick fila after...lol. I just clean them afterwards. It gets so much energy out and I love that they can run and be safe. Usually we are home on furlough and it is nice to have places for them to go. And not sure about Thailand but it is so dirty here, that those malls seem like the cleanest places on earth!!!
