Trip home

Last week we went down to New Orleans. A trip we always look forward to. Our main reason for going was to attend my sister's graduation from high school! We're so proud of her. But while we were down there we kept busy seeing friends, speaking at churches and driving all over the place. It was a nice but stressful week. Of course, as always after a trip like that we feel like we need a vacation when we get home. Here is a brief list of the things we did so I can remember.

Saturday: Graduation in the morning and then a Crawfish boil to honor the graduate!
Sunday: Spoke at two services at Fellowship Bible Church and then a small 1st birthday celebration for Sora
Monday: Probably our slowest day there. Brought mom to the airport to go to NC to visit my new niece; cleaned the house for three hours; went to see the movie Robin Hood after the kids went to bed.
Tuesday: Took the kids to the aquarium - it's so nice! Went home for a quick nap for the kids and then the whole family went out to dinner at Smitties and snowballs.
Wednesday: Did laundry and packed all of our stuff up to head to Mimie's for the second half of our week; went to Christina's and then dinner at a Thai restaurant. Then snowballs again!
Thursday: Me and the kids had a play date with my best friend from high school and her four kids; back home for a quick nap for the kids and then headed to Baton Rouge to visit special friends. Home at 11pm!
Friday: Drove out to Hahnville to show off Sora and the boys at my dads office and then ate lunch with him; another quick nap for the kids and then off to Slidell to visit more of Damien's family. Home at 11pm again!
Saturday: Spent the day helping Damien's sister Christina and her family move. Phew. It was a long but productive day. Dinner at a Chinese restaurant and then the home and the kids actually got to bed at a decent time.
Sunday: Visited Berean; saw old friends and shared about our new assignment in Thailand with the body. Lunch at Texas Roadhouse; Damien and my family got together for the rest of the day; celebrated baby Clay's 1st birthday.
Monday: Breakfast with Mimie and Christina; stop of at my parents for an hour to say goodbye. Finally on the road by 2pm. Home at 10:30.

By Sunday the kids were D.O.N.E. Micaiah fell asleep at the restaurant. My kids have NEVER done that before. I always wanted one of those cute pictures of my kid in their high chair with their face in their food because they fell asleep.


Damien had to hold him like this for most of the lunch.


Sora was a mess! It's like she took carrots and rubbed them all over herself. This picture doesn't do it justice!
