CMIS Thai Day

>> Friday, June 28, 2013

Once a year in February, CMIS has a special day to celebrate the cultures of the school. They rotate between "Thai Day" (where we celebrate the culture that we are living in) and "International Day" (where we celebrate all of the cultures that make up our diverse school). This year was Thai Day. This was our third year to celebrate and it's one of my favorite events of the year.

Micaiah's class did a Muay Thai demonstration. It was the perfect idea being a class of 16 boys and 1 girl (not that girls can't do Muay Thai). They had a blast and looked super cute doing it.

Micaiah spent the entire time fixing his belt...even when he was up on stage. :)

After they did the Muay Thai they rode horse. Not sure what that meant. :)

The 2nd grade did some sort of traditional Thai dance. Orin put on a brave face but it wasn't the most fun thing he's every done.

After the 1 1/2 hour program there is tons of Thai food and fun games. This was definitely the most popular. You buy a ticket, "fish" for a number, and then your number represents the type of prize you get.
