Third time's the charm...

The kids and I are down in New Orleans right now visiting family while Damien is in NC for a conference. I had an amazingly calm and uneventful (besides getting stuck in 30 minutes of accident traffic 15 minutes from my destination) for my first time driving 8 1/2 hours with the kids by myself. Yesterday, I decided to finally give them a bath in like 3 or 4 days. I'm not usually that bad about it, but we had a busy weekend with daddy trying to squeeze in as much as much fun as possible before we didn't see him for a week. So yesterday around 10am they had their bath. Around 5pm Aunt Emily came home with some fun bath paints and such. She was so excited about them (as were they) that they had another bath (which lasted for almost an hour) just for fun. My kids will never pass up a bath. Pops then came home and grilled hamburgers for dinner. The kids wanted to go outside with him. Against my better judgement I said ok, but asked Pops not to let them get too dirty. Yeah, what was I thinking? An hour later they came in probably the dirtiest I've ever seen them. They were out there jumping on the trampoline the who time. I guess it was dark and Pops couldn't see how dirty they were getting. When they came in I swear they looked like chimney sweepers - black from head to toe. Not that Pop didn't try - he said he didn't let them even walk on the grass without their shoes. I guess that trampoline needs a good scrub down. So, we had our third bath of the day. I had to really scrub them down! That was definitely a record for me. Even during stomach viruses I think the most we've had is two full baths. This picture doesn't do it justice.

Messes and kids. Isn't that the life. You clean the get dirty either themselves or the house. Oh but the memories are always worth the mess:)
