Cookie Time

>> Sunday, November 2, 2008

This is a little late - we did it about three weeks ago. But I still wanted to post the pictures. We bought some cheap Halloween cookie cutters and decided to try our hands at making cookies.

Orin wanted to try to stir the dough but it was pretty tough. He kept trying anyway.

Rolling the dough didn't work very well. No matter how much flour I used on the counter and pin, it just stuck to everything. Obviously the dough wasn't right. They loved doing it and didn't realize it wasn't working right.

Cutting out the shapes didn't work perfectly either. But I just kept rolling out the dough and they used the cutters. We had to use the spatula to get the cut dough off of the counter.

They got really dirty - flour was all over them. :-)

It wasn't for a few days until we got the chance to decorate the cookies. I put three piles of white icing on each of their plates along with a few drops of food coloring. They stirred the icing with toothpicks which worked really well.

Finally ready to decorate!

Orin's icing quickly got muddled together.

Had to top it off with sprinkles!

And the best part - eating the masterpieces!

I'd say he needs a bath.

They are so cute. It looks like they had a blast. Sugar cookies are such a mess but the kids always love to do it. What a fun mom!
