May in Chiang Mai

I found these pictures from back in May and wanted to write about them before I forgot. :)
Pig uterus. I still can't get over all of this strange stuff at the grocery store.
Orin's first swimming meet was in May. Actually, it was his only swimming meet. They practiced for two months and then the 7 international schools in Chiang Mai came together for a meet. Here he was trying to stay loose before his heat.
They sat in these chairs and waited while the heat before theirs finished.
In the pool ready to swim the backstroke. Orin has the blue cap.
He did so well. I really thought he'd be last. He actually won his heat. I think his heat was the kids that they thought would do the worst. But he beat 3 of the kids in the second heat also. He was less than 1 second away from winning 3rd. He was so bummed because you don't get a medal unless you are 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.
There was a night at school where they displayed a lot of the art the kids had done. Orin's was the one above him with the 2 trees and orange tiger. He said it was awful.
Getting an oil change on my motorbike.
We had these crazy flowers/plants growing in the yard. They reminded me of the trees in the Dr. Seuss move, "The Lorax."
We had a wonderful team from the US come and run a VBS for the kids during our annual conference. It's always such a huge blessing for us. The last night the kids went up and sang some songs.
Sometimes I love cultural misunderstandings here. We go to a playgroup that switches between different people's houses. The person who was hosting it this day said she was having a pool party. So a bunch of the moms (including me) came in their bathing suits thinking that their house had a pool. Well, turns out it was just the baby pool.
At school Orin had a day where all of the kids had to dress up for what they wanted to be when they grew up. Orin dressed as an inventor.
Here he was with his friend Chris who wants to be a scuba diver when he grows up.

Precious photos! (Except the pig uterus. Blech!) Love the inventor dress-up. :)
