Someone is 6!

This year was the first time we had a "friend" party for Micaiah. Last year he had just started pre-school so he didn't really have many friends his age. He ended up getting sick on his birthday so it's good we didn't plan one anyway. This year we had the opposite problem - he wanted to invite everyone! So we narrowed it down to 6 kids. Five ended up coming (he actually invited the 1 girl in his class but she couldn't come). He still loves Disney's Cars so that was the theme he chose. It was a crazy, energy filled 2 hours but Micaiah had a blast. The only hiccup came from one little boy who was scared of one of the older boys and locked himself in the bathroom. Thirty minutes later I still couldn't get him out so I called his mom. He opened the door to talk to her and finally came out and joined the fun.

Singing Happy Birthday:

This was the cake I made. I loved how it came out...more than any other cake I've made for the kids. The only problem was that it looked like an 8. Even Orin said, "He's not 8 years old!" But I don't think Micaiah noticed and he was thrilled with it. What more could I ask for?

After the kids played with cars for a while we played Car's Bingo. The Bingo Markers were M&Ms and when they got Bingo they could eat all of the M&M. By this time it was 90F in my house so there was some melting going on - but no one seemed to mind.
We had made some tires out of construction paper and put candy inside. Damien hid them and the kids had a little "tire hunt." They were ready to go as soon as we said the word!

The boys with their loot. The tires were their party favors that they could take home and eat the candy.

Damien praying for the food and thanking God for Micaiah.

Having snacks.

Then we played a "toss the bean bag" game. They threw the bean bags into our spare tire. I don't think you can buy bean bags here so I had to make them myself. And since I don't have a sewing machine I had to use fabric glue and then hand sew them. Even then, they were falling apart by the end of the party. But they served their purpose.

I love how excited Micaiah was for his friend when he made it into the tire.

Time to sing happy birthday! I love Micaiah's fake smile because it means he's really trying hard. :)

The cake with the candles.

Here is the table with the food. The camera on my phone is terrible, but it's all I have so these pictures aren't great.

These were "Sally's crispy stoplights."

Doc's Chocolate Dipsticks - pretzels dipped in chocolate. I don't think the kids knew what "dipsticks" are, but they tasted good!

We also had "Tow Mater's Tire's" which were Oreo cookies with a circle of icing in the middle to make them look like tires. For a drink we had "Allinol" which was green sherbet ice cream and sprite." A crazy but fun day!

Wow, you outdid yourself again! Wish we could have been at the party too. Looked like so much fun! I hope Christian can "fit" his present. It's pretty big. We may end up having to ship it, which will make it even later.
