Only Orin

So now that our little boy is getting older he’s giving us a lot of good laughs with the fun things he says. Here are a few quotes:
- “Hi Da-lee” – Yes, we don’t have a “Daddy” anymore. About a month ago Orin called Damien Da-lee. Damien told him it was “Daddy”, but Orin said, “No daddy, it’s da-lee”. He’s been “Da-lee” ever since.
- “Do you have poopie? No, poopie, ok, good.” - I was sitting on the floor and Orin went behind me, pulled the top of my pants open and gave this quote.
- “That’s a great song mom!” – Orin’s comment after we sing or hear a song.
- “We’re going outside to eat” – Orin said this after we told him we were going to a a restaurant (He meant “out to eat”)
- “I need the pickle” (pick) - Damien and Orin were playing their guitars and Orin wanted Damien’s pick.
- “Want some milk?” - Orin and Micaiah were hanging out in their diapers and all of a sudden I hear Orin ask this and then Micaiah let out a whine. I turn around and Orin has Micaiah’s head on his chest.
- “I’m sorry.” - We were at the library and Orin was walking around not looking and ran into a man (not very hard). Orin then ran over to me (instead of the man) and told me he was sorry.
- “I don’t like it.” – Orin says this when he is tired of doing something. He may have eaten a ton of a certain food he likes and instead of saying he doesn’t want anymore he’ll say he doesn’t like it.
- “I want a new ABCD” - We were in the car and Orin was trying to say something to me…I couldn’t understand and he was getting frustrated. Finally, he said “Different music” and I got it - he wanted me to put a new “CD” in.
- “No baby” – This is Orin’s new phrase instead of “no”. He’s gotten so used to saying “no baby” to Micaiah that now if his answer to your question is “no” he’ll say “no baby.” (e.g. “Do you want more food?” – “No baby.”; “Time to go to bed Orin.” – “No baby!”
- “You Can Do It!” - Damien went was doing something for Orin and he said this – it’s from Bob the Builder.
- “See, don’t you feel better!” - We had the main lights off in the house and Orin wanted them on. We said no but Orin turned them on anyway and said this.
- “Look the moon is going to eat the star!” – said as we were reading a book with a moon that had eyes, nose, and mouth and stars all around it.
- “I’m getting some milk!” – said by Orin as he put his mouth on the knobs of the dresser.
- “It’s like a bird,” or “It’s like a car.” - Everything is a metaphor. A bird is “like a bird” and a car is “like a car”.
- “Look, it’s pops!” - In one of Orin’s books there was a drawing of a cartoonish-looking man holding up some weights.
- "Good job mom!" - if we tell Orin "Good job" or "Thank-you" he'll say it right back to us.
- “I want to go to Christmas!” - Orin was asking to see Nina, Pops, and Mimie and I told him we’d see them a Christmas. So all day long he kept saying “We’re going to Christmas to see Nina and Mimie.” Well, when we got home he started crying and saying that he wanted to go to Christmas.
- "Mommy, I ate my bugger!” - Yes, he really said this. I saw Orin in the back seat with his finger up his nose – a few minutes later this quote was born.
- “All done apple!” – said after Orin ate an entire apple (core, seeds, and all!)
- "I want a big hug" - after putting him down for a nap he called me back for a hug and kiss.
- “I’m Orin” - Orin has three dolls for his doll house. He calls them “Mommy”, “Daddy” & “Baby Caiah.” Once I asked him where “Orin” was and he said “I’m Orin” (meaning he was the Orin of the Doll house family.
- “Look, it’s like a moon, it’s like a little moon!” – said as Orin pointed to a crescent moon.
- “Peel it up” – Said when Orin wants us pull down his banana peel.
- “It’s not too late, it’s just light outside.” - When changing Orin’s diaper he asked me to put medicine on his bottom but I told him it was too late because I already put on powder.
- “I’m gonna sleep in the plack-n-play” – Orin LOVES to sleep in the pack-n-play but doesn’t quite have the name right.
