New Bed For The Boys
>> Saturday, April 19, 2008
We must be crazy, but we decided that since we're moving and transitioning anyway, it was time to get Micaiah out of his crib. Might as well do everything at once, right? So we decided to just put both boys into a full-sized bed together. As we travel to visit supports and churches, we figure the kids may end up sleeping in the same bed often, so we might as well get them used to it now. Mimie happened to have a mattress, box spring and bed frame that she was given and will never use. Yeah! We bought a set of train sheets - not a surprise if you read about Orin's birthday - and they were really excited.
The first few evenings were a little rough. Micaiah was restless; moving around a lot and just trying to get comfortable in the new sleeping arrangements. And Orin would just start crying because Micaiah was "moving" and "talking." As we left the room the first night we thought everything might be ok, but about 3 minutes later, we hear a door open and shut, hear little footsteps, see Micaiah come around the corner, and with a big grin he says, "HI!" After some crying Damien laid down with them for about 20 until they fell asleep.
The next few nights went about the same, but two nights ago we left the room after the normal bedtime routine and didn't hear a peep. Last night went well too, so we're hoping we're getting into a routine.
