The Feast!

>> Monday, November 23, 2009

Every year at the preschool they have a "Feast" for the 3 & 4 year old class. And they go all out! Somehow last year I missed the fact that the parents were invited. This year it fell on the day I work at the school so not only did I get to be there but I got to participate. The teachers spent the morning setting up so it was my and another helper's job to occupy the kids for an hour and a half. Unfortunately it was raining so we had to do it inside. We played lots of games, did puzzle races, played pin the feather on the turkey, etc... I think it worked out pretty well. The feast began at 11am and was a blast.

The kids in a circle about to play duck-duck-goose. I love that Orin and Micaiah are sitting together.

Chaiah about to pin his feather on the turkey.

The kids dressed up for the occasion. The three year old's were Indians and the 4's & 5's were pilgrims. During the week they made their hats. I guess the collars are just something they use each year.

All dressed up and just waiting until it's time to sit at the table. They were all so cute!

It's nice that they were at the end of the table - much easier to get pictures that way. :-) I just felt a little bad for them because I think it was hard to eat in those hats.

Excited about his food. They had turkey (real thanksgiving turkey) corn, mashed potatoes (that Micaiah's class got to help whip up earlier in the morning), pink jello salad and pumpkin pie.

The tables were decorated so nicely. It was fun to see the parents and kids enjoy it so much.

Micaiah and Mrs. Sheri. She is just the sweetest teacher you could imagine. He absolutely loves her. It's such a great picture and I'm bummed that it came out blurry.

This is Orin's teacher serving them some pie. She is wonderful too and Orin loves her. When we're out of town or he misses a day of school he'll say, "I miss Ms. Lark. I can't wait to go back to school. I bet she can't wait for me to come back too."

Like I said, because I was working that day I got to participate. :-)

They were just too cute.

We tried hard to get a good picture of three of us but it never really quite worked.

One of the kids in Orin's class it moving to PNG. We took a class picture to remember him by.
