Nimh Party

Damien finished reading Mrs. Frisby & The Rat's of Nimh to the boys a few weeks ago. So we decided to watch the movie The Secret of Nimh which is based on the book and have a Nimh party. Let me tell you, it's not easy to find ideas for a party of this kind. You want Cars or Wall-E or Toy Story, no problem. The Secret of Nimh, nada. The only thing Damien could really find was stuff for mouse parties.

In the movie the rats lived in tunnels far below ground and spent in a lot of time in their meeting room. So Damien decided to start upstairs and make tunnels for the boys to climb through in order to get downstairs to the "meeting room" where we'd watch the movie. In the book the meeting room was lit with Christmas lights so we put them up (the two strands we have) in the den.

Here is a video of the boys climbing through the tunnels. It took Damien a long time to put this up but it was really worth it! So much fun.

For food we had just a bunch of little foods. Little hot dogs, little corn, and lots of other things chopped up really small. We had little plates and cups (thanks to Sora's play tea set) and even small cans of soda.

So cute! I loved seeing the food on the little plates. :-)

We ended up putting the little plates onto big plates because the food kept falling off. :-)

You can see a little string of Christmas lights behind them as they watched the movie. It was fun to be in the dark with just the lights.
