Changing Seasons

Before we left for New Orleans, it had gotten pretty cold here. We were using our jackets every day. So when we got back I decided it was time to get out our winter clothes. I spent all day Monday washing and organizing everything I have for the kids. I actually enjoy doing this. Plus, it's fun to get out the new clothes - well, not new, but new for us. I've been very blessed to be able to get some of our clothes from my sister-in-law and the rest I get at consignment shops. I make sure each boy has about 8 or 9 outfits. I match up the pants and shirts so they always go together. One reason I like to do this is to keep myself from impulsively buying a cute shirt or something if I'm out at the store. If I buy a shirt, I have to buy pants too. I guess since buying an entire outfit is more expensive, I'm less likely to do it impulsively. I know, silly. We don't have much dresser room, so I keep only one season out at a time. So once I take out the winter clothes, that's what we wear. In VA, once it got cold, winter had come. There was no turning back. I guess it doesn't work like that here in Dallas. Luckily I kept out a couple of short-sleeved shirts for the kids - I'm hoping they aren't hot. Not that I'm complaining. I'll take warm weather over cold any day! Now the weather is just perfect. I'm not looking forward to winter, but when I read blogs of friends in VA and see their kids in coats, I'm know it could be much worse!

Funny...I remember doing that with my kids and then I would pack away the summer clothes to only have it get warm again and have to dig out the summer clothes again for a day or two. LOL. "Watching" you kids rear your own young ones brings back so many wonderful memories.
