Safari Fun

I'll blog some of the things we did in New Orleans in separate posts. If I tried to do everything together you'd definitely have picture overload. The day after Christmas we went to the Global Wildlife Center in Fulsome, LA (about an hour from New Orleans). We went with Damien's family, none of whom had been or heard much about it before. It was a blast. What a neat place. In telling people about, it seems like we're the only people who hadn't heard about it. So many people have told me, "Yeah, I've been there, that place is so cool!" I can't believe we hadn't been sooner!

Caiah was ready to go. We had to sit a while and wait, but he waited patiently with Aunt Christina.
I love this picture - he look so sweet.
This one too. Maybe because they ARE sweet. :-)
It was such a blast. At the beginning Orin didn't want to get too close so instead of letting the animals stick their face/tongue in his cup while he held it, he stood above them and poured it into their mouths.
Lamas were the only animals that we were allowed to feed right out of our hands. Quite a few of us tried it once, but I think Micaiah was the only one who kept going back again and again. He giggled every time and said that it tickled.
Orin showing us that some of the animals have horns, "Like this."
After a while Micaiah got a little bored. He started just throwing handfuls of food out of the train. So we told him he had to do it one at a time. So he just sat there, and threw them backwards over his head one at a time. You can actually see it in this picture. It kept him busy for the remainder of the trip.
This was towards the end - can you tell he was pooped! With all that fun and missing naps, the kids were definitely worn out. But they all did great and were happy the entire time.
This is a cute video of Micaiah giggling as he feeds the Lamas.

And here are a few more pictures:
