This Week's Craftime

I don't know why, but both of my kids love doing these crafts. Orin will often ask throughout the day if we are going to do a craft today. Micaiah loves it too. Sometimes by the end he may not want to follow my instructions and branch out of his own, but I'm good with that. He's just being creative. We did a lot of fun things last week. I have no problem admitting that I am NOT creative. I love this site. So many great ideas!

Sometimes they just like to 'free' paint.

Caiah enjoyed painting but then got a little distracted and made 'soup' with his bowl of water.

Making a strawberry. I thought this was a cute idea. First they colored the strawberry I drew out on cardboard.
Caiah putting glue dots for the 'seeds'. They love gluing for some reason.
We used green lentils for seeds.
Then they glued on the stem.
Finished strawberries. It's so hard to get them both to smile at the same time.
I loved this idea. The number 1 got one sticker, 2 got two stickers, etc... Micaiah loves 'reading' it. I think it has really helped him get better at counting and even recognizing numbers.

This day we made suns. First we painted the paper plates.
They glued on the 'rays' (their hand prints). For some reason when I traced Micaiah's hands he freaked out a little. He seemed scared by it. It was funny.

Micaiah wanted some goldfish. I tried to put them on a napkin but he wanted them on his sun.
The finished suns. The hands were falling off - that's what happens when I let them glue it all by themselves. They are learning though. :-) It was cute because Orin kept getting upset when they would fall off.
