Caiah's First Field Trip
>> Sunday, December 16, 2012
With all of the boys in Micaiah's class (16 boys, 1 girl) it's not a surprise that construction became a favorite topic. So the teachers decided to take them to see construction sites, of which there are plenty around Chiang Mai.
The first one was this huge construction site for a new mall which we didn't exactly have permission to be at. We certainly got some strange looks.
This was as far as we could go. The site really was amazing. The hole they had dug was HUGE.
The kids were in awe.
They were loading huge concrete blocks onto this truck. It probably wasn't the safest place to be.
Then we went to another site. This one is a condo being built that is owned by the parents of a child in Micaiah's class.
This was completely opposite of the other site. Everyone was given their own water as they entered. They had a nice presentation for the kids. This man was speaking in Thai and the woman was translating. But she certainly didn't seem comfortably doing it. I don't think the kids understood much of what what was said. Although the kids who speak Thai probably understood when the man spoke.
They each got to take turns looking at the model of the condo. Sora loved feeling like a part of it too.
Then they went outside and spent some time looking at the site and sketching what they saw.

I love that they love for me to come on field trips with them. So for now I'll go on as many as I can!
