Some random pictures from October (I'm just a LITTLE behind)
Our sweet Maebaan that we had for 16 months moved (we were so sad) but we were so blessed to find another amazing one! She's been working for the past four months. She works 3 mornings per week. She is such a help to me with cleaning and laundry and also watches the kids sometimes. She doesn't speak English, but works with the kids to try to understand any Thai they say. She is Lahu (which is one of the Ethnic minority groups here so Thai is actually her second language because her people speak Lahu). One day I asked her to teach me to cook a Lahu meal. It was so good!!!!
During "choice" time at school, one of the stations is the art area. They have piles and piles of materials and Micaiah and the other classmates are almost always coming out with some sort of creation made of cereal boxes, toilet paper holders, tape rolls, yogurt containers, egg cartons, etc... I really should take a picture each day to document it. Micaiah unusually comes out with a gun or bomb of some kind, but this day he came with a camera. It was so cute. Here is it taking a picture of me.
You can't really see it, but it even had a strap to hang around his neck.
Every once in a while we're just driving through a mubaan and we come across a funeral procession. When Buddhists die they are cremated and most mubaans have their own furnaces or crematoriums.
I love that I find them like this quite often.
For the last few years CMIS participated in a 5-nations cup. International Christian Schools from 5 countries (Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand) get together to play a Football (soccer) tournament. Last year they all went to Taiwan, but this year it was at Grace International School here in Chiang Mai. It's about 30 minutes south of us, so one day we went down and watch a game.
Orin had fun taking pictures of things. :)
I was trying to get a good picture of this shirt for my sister-in-law who taught at Faith for a year.
The kids got like this and then begged me to take a picture.
The missions pastor from one or our churches back home came to Thailand with a small team for a 2 week trip to work with refugees near the border. We were able to meet with him the day he was flying out. It was nice to see a familiar face!
Here is a random video of Micaih opening a birthday gift that Nina and Pops sent to him when Christina and Rob came to visit.
This is a video from the assembly at CMIS that the 2nd graders were in charge of. They sang some songs, including the CMIS song which I think is so cute. It's long, but grandparents might want to see it. :)
