Getting Frustrated
>> Tuesday, December 1, 2009
It has now been 7 weeks since we sent in our I-600 for approval. It was supposed to take 4-6 weeks to get an approval. Ugh. It's getting frustrating to look through the mail every day and it not be there. I told our home study agency (they told us to let them know if it takes longer than 6 weeks) and they gave me an email for the orphans officer in Dallas. I emailed yesterday and actually got a response saying that they would have to look for my file and get back to me. Today they wrote again. The email pretty much said the following, "The orphan's officer has your file and it is in process. Thank you for your patience." Wow, thanks for the huge piece of information. Seriously, I already knew that. Oh, well. I was hoping they would say, "Oh, you've been approved and it should be in the mail." :-)
Damien keeps telling me I'm silly to worry about it anyway. It doesn't really matter when we get it - as long as it's before January 1st - since Korea won't be giving out Visa's anyway until then. But I just want it done with. I want another step complete, even if we wait at the next step for a while. I want it ready just in case Korea decides to give a few more visas. Plus I'm just getting worried that with Christmas coming up everything will just shut down and it will be even longer. Please come already!
