A short update about Sora

We got another fax today from our agency. Actually, the agency got the fax from Korea and then emailed it to us. Anyway, it was the results of Sora's hearing test on September 30th. Unfortunately, it didn't tell us much we didn't already know. When they did the BERA test when she was 6 weeks old, they didn't test as low of decibels we test here. So they did a little wider range with pretty much tells us her hearing in her good ear is very good. Testing the hearing on the other side doesn't really give much information. The fax also said that she is going to have a bone conduction hearing test soon which will tell us if she has the capacity to hear in her deformed ear. This will tell us if surgery in the future is a possibility.
The nice part about her getting these tests is that we get updates of her growth more often. Normally the babies just go in once a month for check-ups. We just got one a few weeks ago. So on September 30th, she was 13 1/2 lbs and 25inches long. Her head is growing which is good.
They also mentioned that they got our care package and delivered it to her foster family today! They were very thankful and said that Sora is doing well.
I've heard a little more about the changes to the I-600. We used to send it to our local immigration office (like we did with our I-600a). Well, on October 6th, they announced that instead of sending it to our local office, the I-600 should be sent to one central office. That means that everyone in the US will send it to the same place. It's supposed to streamline the process and end duplication of effort, but I'm a little worried about it. Ours was sent in on the 13th...only a few days after the announcement. And you know how the government is...I can totally see this new office getting the documents and saying, "What do we do with these?" I'm worried it could make this part of the process longer. Is it going to take 2 months to get approved instead of 5 weeks? I'm trying not to be concerned, but anytime the government changes the way it does something it's always a little unorganized for a while, right? Anyway, it's just another thing for me to worry about. But it's also another thing for God to give me peace about.
