Sora's first Doctor's appointment

We had Sora's first Doctor's appointment yesterday. Somehow I forgot my camera. Bummer! Children's Medical Center in Dallas has an International Adoption department. They reviewed our referral back in September and have been reviewing all of her hearing tests and updates along the way. It was fun to meet the people we've been communicating with since last June.
Sora did great. Didn't cry once. She let the Doctor examine her without too much fuss. We were with the Doctor for about 45 minutes so Sora could be complete evaluated - including her development.
Sora weights 17lbs 10oz - the 10th percentile. She's 27 inches long - the 35th percentile. Her head, which has been a concern because it was in the 3rd percentile is now in the 10th percentile - great news! That means is growing as it should. I was a little concerned because her head is misshapen in the back, but the Doctor said it is fine and will fix itself eventually.
Her development is on target. She is ahead in some areas (walking, etc..) but obviously a little behind in language. She mimicked some of what the Doctor did and showed off her pincher grab skills.
Next week we have the appointment with the ENT and audiologist. They will do hearing tests (we can't completely trust the ones from Korea) and most likely do an MRI to see what exactly is going on in her inner ear. This will tell us whether or not she'll be able to have surgery in the future to create an ear canal so that she can hear. About 70% of the time it is possible. Either way, she'll probably have the plastic surgery in a few years to create an ear. And as long as the hearing in the her other ear is good, she should be able to develop speech normally. I'll make sure to bring my camera to the next appointment!
