Giving to Thailand at Christmas

>> Tuesday, December 14, 2010

One thing we've enjoyed doing as a family the last few Christmas' is looking through the World Vision Gift Catalog and picking a "gift" to send to a child. I know this is a tradition that many families have begun doing too.

Did you know that World Vision works in Thailand? CLICK HERE to go to the website - then click the "WVFT page" to enter the site. AND they have a Gift Catalog specifically to purchase items to help families in Thailand! You can CLICK HERE to view the Gift Catalog. The prices are in Baht. But you can easily figure out the US dollar by simply dividing the amount by 33. (for example 66 Baht = $2).

FYI, the website is in Thai and is translated into English, so some of the wording can sound a little strange. :-)

Compassion International also has many children from Thailand that need sponsors. The website allows you to SEARCH BY COUNTRY so it's easy to select "Thailand." And just think, you could come and visit us and we could go with you to visit your sponsored child! :-)

We sponsor kids with both World Vision and Compassion Int, two great organizations! Our boy "Ace" in the Philippines has been replaced - the project in his community was so successful they did not need it anymore. Now we have "John" also in the Philippines. Sadly, our little Compassion girl Raiza in Brazil had to leave the program. We now have Martha in Bolivia. I'm glad they have programs in Thailand too!
