The perfect picnic

Last weekend was so beautiful. We've been wanting to do a picnic for a while. We do picnics all of the time, but we wanted to do a real one - you know, with BBQ, kites, and all. It was the perfect day to do it.

Unfortunately, getting there didn't go incredibly well. We decided to just find a grocery store on the way but that proved more difficult than we thought. Since we have a GPS, we had it show us all of the grocery stores on the way. However, the data in our GPS is from 2005 so it is a little outdated. Every grocery store that we went to had actually closed down. Seriously, it was like 5! Luckily we ended up in finding a Whole Foods. We rarely go there so it was fun to get a few special things.

She's excited go get going! Little did she know we'd be in the car for an hour before finally getting to the park!

The kids got to pick out something special at the grocery store and they both wanted these HUGE chocolate cookies.


Right as we were finishing eating we heard the ice cream man pull up. I don't think the kids have ever had an ice cream man experience so we got them something. They were SO excited.

She loves walking around with food but we never let her do at home. You can see here that she dropped her graham cracker on the ground.

And here she is putting it back in her mouth. :-) Damien recently read a study that kids who play in dirt have less allergies...I think she's good to go!

There were butterflies everywhere. The kids were thrilled that they kept landing on us.


After lunch we flew our little kite. I'll put them in a different post since I already have too many here. :-)
