Travel Call!!!!!!!

Wooo-hooo! I don't think I could add enough exclamation points after the title. She called about 9:15am this morning. I pretty much know every day that if we haven't heard by 9:30am we won't hear. All of the emails and faxes from Korea come in during the night so the social worker gets them when she arrives at the office in the morning. I know they try to call right away.

Unfortunately, Damien had just left for work. But I told the kids when I was on the phone with the social worker and they were jumping up and down and saying, "We're going to get Sora, we're going to get Sora!!!" I just kept telling her "Thank you" over and over. I called Damien. I knew he was in his morning prayer meeting but if I call his work phone he knows I need to talk to him. He called right back thankfully because I really wanted him to hear.

I would have loved to leave this weekend but it just wouldn't work. We'd have to leave Saturday and get in to Korea Sunday night. We have to meet Sora on a Monday so we'd still have really bad jet lag. Plus, our social worker reminded me that it's Lunar New Year on Sunday. The SWS offices are closed on Monday so they don't want us to come anyway.

So we'll leave next Thursday, February 18th. We had to put our plane tickets on 24hour hold. We'll be flying Korea Air and the best part is that there are direct flights from Dallas! It wouldn't be so bad to have a non-stop flight on the way over there but it would be miserable to have a long layover at LAX with Sora and the boys...and jet lag! Our social worker will email our itinerary to SWS and they will give us approval. So tomorrow morning we should know if they are ok with it. We're praying now that we can stay in the SWS guest house. We can actually get a 2 bedroom apartment style room which would work perfectly for us. It's only $90/night. Even the cheapest hotel is that much for just a studio room. I'm praying they aren't all taken.

We'll be there for a week. We get to meet Sora on Monday and take custody on Wednesday. We will come back on Thursday, February 25th. So I'm counting the days! I've prepared so well that I'm worried the next 6 days are going to go by SO SLOW. I wish I could just go to sleep and wake up Thursday morning. :-) Actually, I'm really going to try hard to spend time with the boys and enjoy our family of four before things change drastically.

So today has been pretty exciting. Not only a travel call but we'll probably break the record for the most snow EVER in a day in Dallas. It's been crazy and snowing for 12 hours. It might not be the craziness they've have in the north east, but the 7" we've had here Dallas is about as close to a blizzard we will ever get.

Please pray for us. For great travel, good weather, obedient boys, health, ect... Sora will also be going through one of the most difficult experiences she will have in her lifetime so please pray for her too.
